Some might say it’s too early to think about Christmas films, but with November around the corner, Tamworth Borough Council are excited to announce that the Assembly Rooms will be showcasing Christmas movies on their big screen throughout December.

Tickets are now on sale to watch some of the best family Christmas films to get everyone in the full festive spirit. There will be matinee and evening screenings from Monday, December 19 all the way up until the big day on Saturday, December 25.

It is the perfect way to introduce new family members, as well as the young ones, to these classic movies – and what better way to do so than on the big cinema screen.

Festive films for December:

• Monday 19 December at 11am – Arthur (U)
• Monday 19 December at 7pm – Lethal Weapon (15)
• Tuesday 20 December at 7pm – Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York (PG)
• Wednesday 21 December at 11am – Frozen 2 (PG)
• Wednesday 21 December at 7pm – Jingle all the Way (PG)
• Thursday 22 December at 11am – The Grinch (U)
• Friday 23 December at 11am – The Polar Express (U)
• Saturday 24 December at 11am – The Muppets Christmas Carol (U)           

If you can’t wait until December for a movie night, then why not join the Monday Movie Club or Silver Screen Club? Enjoy classic and blockbuster movies including Downton Abbey – A New Era on Monday, 7 November and Bend it Like Beckham on Monday, 21 November.

Alternatively, if you are looking for a weekend movie, there is Disney Pixar Lightyear at 3pm on Saturday, November 19 and Top Gun Maverick being shown on the evening from 7.30pm. Both films are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for children and Monday Movie Night Club members.

Councillor Rob Pritchard, Deputy Leader of Tamworth Borough Council, said: “We’re excited to launch our new Assembly Rooms Christmas cinema programme, with a huge selection of some of the most classic Christmas movies.

“Christmas is around the corner and Tamworth Borough Council want to make this festive season as magical as it can be. We have Christmas activities for everyone to enjoy, including Wreath Making, festive shows, Christmas parties, Santa experiences and our Christmas movies line-up.

Tickets for the festive movies are priced at £4.

The Claymore Cafe will also be open for attendees to grab a hot or cold drink, licenced bar and a bite to eat
