Christmas cheer arriving to St Editha’s as Tamworth Voices and Tamworth Wind Band join together

Tamworth Assembly Rooms continue ‘on tour’ this season as annual favourites Tamworth Voices will perform on Saturday December 2 at St Editha’s Church, as part of Tamworth Assembly Rooms on Tour.

This popular Christmas concert will be extra special this year as Tamworth Voices will be performing for the first time with Tamworth Wind Band in this festive Christmas performance.

The event proceeds will be split between Macmillan Cancer Support and St Editha’s Church.

Tom Sears, Musical Director of Tamworth Wind Band said:” We are very excited to be joining forces with Tamworth Voices for this concert. It promises to be a spectacular show, raising money for a very worthy cause.”

Church Wardens of St Editha’s Church said: “It is always a privilege to host events in St Editha's, it makes the Church feel a real part of the Community. It is wonderful to think that Tamworth Voices and the Wind Band, not only choose to perform in St Editha's, but donate part of the money raised to the Church. Having listened to both of them perform it should be a wonderful evening!”

Pauline Lewis, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said: “We are absolutely delighted that Tamworth Voices will be donating profits from this concert to Macmillan Cancer Support and St. Editha’s Church. There is no better way to start your Christmas season than enjoying this great festive themed evening and raising money for local people affected by cancer. With almost eight people living in Tamworth, being diagnosed with cancer every week, the support of Tamworth Voices and the kind people of Tamworth are needed now more than ever and we can’t thank them and you enough!”

Tamworth Voices will put a contemporary twist on the traditional choir; covering a wide range of musical styles and performing well known Christmas anthems. Tickets are priced £10 adults, £8 concessions. The concert will start at 7.30pm.

All event tickets are available via the box office: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk  or 01827 709618. A transaction fee of £1 is payable on all online and telephone bookings.

This is guaranteed to bring Christmas cheer into the hearts of all who attend.

“The Arts and Events team has been working hard to support local groups to find alternative venues until the new-look Assembly Rooms are ready to welcome them back. We hope that people will support and continue to enjoy these very special events.”
